January 19, 2023 - Joaquin Youth Sports, Inc is a non-profit 501 (c) (3), organization consisting of a group of volunteers working together to provide a safe and fun environment for our youth to play Baseball, Football, Basketball and Cheerleading.  Click her to sign up. 

Our Main Goals: To teach and develop the youth in the Joaquin area, To provide a safe and clean environment and To provide a fun atmosphere for our youth to grow and flourish.

Registrations will run through February 3rd, 2023

Ages for each division with the exception of wee ball listed below:
Girls age as of January 1st, Boys age as of May 1st and Wee ball just requires the player to be the age of 3.

If you are planning to be a head coach, assistant coach, or volunteer, please sign up as well. 

2023 Baseball/Softball Signups Now: $90 1st Child, $85 2nd Child and $80 3rd Child.

Ages: WeeBall - 3&4, TBall - 5&6, 8U - 7&8, 10U - 9&10, 12U - 11&12, 14U - 13&14.

Registration Fee will cover: 
Insurance for all children, WeeBall & Boys - Jersey, Hat & Belt, Girls - Jersey, Belt & Socks

Every Player is required to provide their own Black Baseball/Softball Pants.

Where? The Community House, 425 San Augustine Street, Center, Texas
When? Friday, January 27; Tuesday, January 31; Friday, February 3
Time? All Dates from 5:00pm to 7:00pm

Boys and Girls, Ages (4-14) are encouraged to play

Parents are encouraged to come by City Hall at 617 Tenaha Street to sign up also. Office hours are Monday – Friday 8:30-4:30pm. If one of the signup dates doesn’t work for you, please come by City Hall before February 10th to sign up. After February 10th, there will be a $15 late fee added to the registration. Center Roughriders Gymnasium on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 -

The Center Lady Roughriders varsity basketball team fell at home to the Carthage Lady Bulldogs by a 47-36 score on Tuesday. Center now has a 7-12 overall standing and a 3-5 District 17 4A mark. Carthage is 11-15 overall and 5-2 overall.

The game was close early and Carthage held a narrow 7-6 point lead at the end of the first quarter. By halftime Carthage had built their lead to 19-15.

Carthage led by 6 points at the conclusion of the third stanza and they held a 29-23 advantage.

Center was led by Lanaijha Johnson with 14 points and Gabby Whisenant with ten points. Carthage was led by Kaylen Igbokwe with 12 points and Za’kyra Myers with ten.

Center will next travel to Chapel Hill’s Bulldogs Gymnasium on Tuesday, January 20, 2023 for more District 17 action. Sub-varsity play begins at 4:30 p.m. with varsity games to follow.

Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Center Roughriders Gymnasium –

The Center Roughriders varsity basketball team took a 68-41 point win over the visiting Carthage Bulldogs at Roughriders Gymnasium on Tuesday. The win boasted the ‘Riders overall record to 20-3 and their District 17-4A mark improves to 6-0.

Center held a 13-7 lead midway through the first period and they held a 19-15 advantage going into the second quarter. Halftime saw the Roughriders leading the Bulldogs 30-22. By the end of the third stanza Center held a convincing 49-29 lead on their way to their fifteenth consecutive win.

Center was led by Marmar Evans and Cash Cross who each had 17 points, and by Timothy Evans with 11. Carthage was led by Will McDaniel with 17 points.

Center will travel to Chapel Hill’s Bulldogs Gymnasium on Tuesday, January 20, 2023 for more District 17 action. Sub-varsity play begins at 4:30 p.m. with varsity games to follow.

Timpson Bears Gymnasium on Friday, January 13, 2023 –

The Timpson Bears varsity basketball team improved their District 23 2A record to 5-0 with a convincing 74-44 win over the visiting Tenaha Tigers on Friday. The win improves the Bears overall standing to 11-2. Tenaha is at 2-2 in conference action and 11-12 overall.

The Bears never trailed and they built a 16-6 lead by the end of the first quarter. Timpson led 31-15 at the midway break and 44-29 going into the final period.

The Bears were led by Terry Bussey with 22 points, Vosky Howard added on 14, Jackson Campbell 12 and JJ Garner scored 11. Tenaha was led by Pooh Moore and A’vanta Fredieu with 13 points each.

Timpson will host the Garrison Bulldogs on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 with junior varsity tipping off at 4:30 p.m. and varsity action to follow.

Tenaha will travel to Beckville Bearcats Gymnasium on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. Junior varsity tips off at 4:30 p.m. and varsity play will follow.

Timpson Bears Gymnasium on Friday, January 13, 2023 –

The Tenaha Lady Tigers varsity basketball team improved their District 23 2A record to 6-0 on Friday with a 60-25 win over the Timpson Lady Bears. The win gives the Lady Tigers a 24-2 overall mark. The Lady Bears stand at 4-1 in the district and 20-7 overall.

The two schools were tied with a 4-4 point score at the midway point of the opening period. Tenaha built a 15-7 advantage by the end of the first frame. At halftime the Lady Tigers held a 30-15 lead.

Timpson kept pace in the third period but still trailed by a 39-25 score going into the final period of play.

Tenaha was led scoring by Kayanna Cox with 34 points and I’Tayanna Dagley with 11. Timpson was led by D’Chelle Campbell with 12 points.

Tenaha will travel to Beckville’s Bearcats Gymnasium on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 where Junior Varsity action tips off at 4:30 p.m. and Boys and Girls Varsities will follow.

January 12, 2023 - The Tenaha Junior High basketball games tonight, January 12, 2023 with Garrison begin at 5:30pm. Two games in the SEC and two games in Tiger Gym. Gates will open at 5pm.

Joaquin Rams Gymnasium on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 –

On Tuesday the Lady Rams varsity basketball team fell to the visiting Slocum Lady Mustangs by a 42-17 score. The game was a non-conference contest and put the Lady Rams record at 11-14 this season. This game was close in the early stages but Joaquin fell behind in the second quarter. The Lady Mustangs led 20-11 at the halftime break. The third quarter finished with Slocum ahead by a 33-13 score on their way to the 42-17 win. Joaquin was led by Ke’Maria Wilson with 9 points. Slocum was led by Abby Taylor with 22 points.

The Joaquin varsity boys team hosted the White Oak Roughnecks in a non-district contest. The Rams pulled away in the final period to take a 42-36 win. The Roughnecks led 14-12 at the end of the first frame, 27-19 at the end of the third period, and 34-32 going into the final frame. The Rams season mark now stands at 8-9 for the year.

Joaquin was led by Cole Bragg and Malik Stotts who each scored 10 points. White Oak was led by Matthew Bort with 9 points.

Joaquin will host the Shelbyville Dragons in District 23 2A competition at Rams Gymnasium on Friday, January 17, 2023. JV will tipoff at 4:30 p.m. and varsity action will follow.

The Center Roughriders varsity basketball team never trailed the Gilmer Buckeyes in their 81-48 District 17 4A home win. The Roughriders are now 17-3 overall this season and they are 3-0 in District 17 conference play. Gilmer is 5-11, 1-2.

Center bult a 15-10 advantage by the 3-minute mark of the opening frame and they led 19-13 at the end of the first quarter. CHS went on an 8-0 point scoring run to begin the second stanza and they led 39-21 at the midway break. The third period saw CHS outscore GHS 21-13 and the ‘Riders took a 60-34 lead into the final period on their way to the 81-48 point win.

The Roughriders were led by Emonte Cross with 22 points and Kedrin Hinson with 15. Geramiah Noble helped the Gilmer Buckeyes with 15 points.

The Roughriders will head to Henderson Lions Gymnasium on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 for more District 17 4A conference action. JV tipoff is at 4:30 p.m. with varsity play to follow.

The Center Roughriders varsity basketball team fell by a 56-26 score to the Gilmer Lady Buckeyes. The loss puts Center’s District 14 4A record at 1-4 and their season mark at 5-11 with nine games remaining in the regular season. Gilmer has a 4-0 conference mark and they are at 15-7 overall.

The Lady Buckeyes pulled out to a 13-7 lead by the end of the first period and they held a comfortable 32-16 advantage at the halftime buzzer. Center trailed by 14 points at the end of the third frame trailing GHS 38-24. GHS outpaced Center by a 18-2 point margin in the final quarter to gain the 56-26 point win.

Gilmer was led offensively by Katelyn Dudley with 14 points. Center's Lanaijha Johnson led the Lady 'Riders with ten points.

Center will travel to Henderson Lions Gymnasium on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 for another District 14 game. JV tipoff will begin at 4:30 p.m. and varsity action will follow.
