David’s Daily Devotion for Dec. 1

December 1, 2025 - Good Morning! It’s Monday, December 1.

Henry Ford had the idea to produce an automobile, the Model-T, on a moving line, an assembly line. This idea reduced the time of production from a full day to an hour and a half. It also, amazingly, reduced the price of his car from $780 to $290. That would be like slashing the price of a Ford, today, from $25,000 to $5,000! A new Model-T came off the assembly line every 3 minutes. And the first one came off on the morning of December 1, 1913.

David’s Daily Devotional for November 25

November 25, 2025 - Good Morning! It’s Tuesday, November 25.

We continue our Thanksgiving series, with the story of another Bible character who was thankful.

Leprosy is considered by historians to be the first recorded disease. Scientific proof dates back to at least 2000 BC, and Hippocrates wrote about leprosy five centuries before Bethlehem. It was incurable, and those who contracted it were quarantined -  not for 14 days, like during the Covid pandemic - but for the rest of their lives.

David's Daily Devotion for November 24

November 24, 2025 - Good Morning! It’s Monday, November 24. And we continue today our Thanksgiving series, with a look at a Bible character who was thankful.

The Apostle Paul wrote just about half of the New Testament - 12 books out of 27 - 13 if you believe that he wrote Hebrews. I do not. I like to believe, as do some theologians, that Paul’s fellow missionary, Priscilla, wrote Hebrews. Out of the 66 books in the Bible, it would be nice if at least one of them was written by a woman.

David's Daily Devotion for November 20

November 20, 2025 - Good Morning! It’s Thursday, November 20.

Thanksgiving Day is just one week away. A day for food, family, and football. Nothing wrong with that! But could it be more? Could it also be an annual reminder of the importance of thankfulness in our lives? Could it be an annual reset of our spirit of gratefulness? With that in mind, we’re in the middle of a two-week thanksgiving series. Next week we’ll take a look at some Bible characters who were thankful, but this morning we remember the story behind another thanksgiving song.

David’s Daily Devotion for Nov. 19

November 19, 2025 - Good Morning! It’s Wednesday, November 19.

We continue our Thanksgiving series, in an attempt to raise the importance of a holiday that often does not get its due. Unlike Christmas, the fourth Thursday in November, passes all too quickly, with little thought to its meaning or its message. But, just like Christmas, Thanksgiving has some great songs. Here’s the story behind one of them.

David’s Daily Devotion for Nov. 18

November 18, 2025 - Good Morning! It’s Tuesday, November 18.

Thanksgiving is nine days away, and we continue our series on thankfulness, preparing our minds and hearts for this important holiday. Over the next two weeks we’ll look at stories behind some thankful songs, stories behind some thankful Bible characters, and wisdom on this foundational subject from Christ himself. But this morning, the unlikely trio of Albert Einstein, Paul McCartney, and the Apostle Paul, teach us about the connection between thankfulness and humility.

David's Daily Devotion for November 17

November 17, 2025 - Good Morning! It’s Monday, November 17.

Christmas is coming! Actually, it’s been coming for a while, with Yuletide items on store shelves for weeks and weeks. We give Christmas a “wide berth.” We give it plenty of room, plenty of focus, plenty of time. But most holidays are just one day affairs, one-offs, one and done. Usually that’s fine with me. One day to feed candy to the little neighborhood monsters, one day to buy candy for our sweethearts, one day to - well, do whatever it is we’re supposed to do on Arbor Day.
