Karl Wallenda was born in Germany in 1890 to a circus acrobat family. In 1928 these high-wire performers came to America and "The Flying Wallenda's" soon became one of the top acts under the Big Top. In the 1940's Karl perfected the daring "Seven Man Pyramid", a feat so dangerous that no one else had ever even attempted it. The public stood up and cheered.

If you grew up in church, like I did, you’re probably familiar with “churchy” words. These are terms from the language Churchese that are typically not used in everyday life. One of these is the word “fellowship”. You would never say this to your office colleagues, “Let’s get together after work for fellowship!” But at church we have fellowship groups that have fellowships in Fellowship Halls.

Tomorrow is the first day of spring. In 1931, the British children’s author Eleanor Farjeon wrote a hymn for children. She titled it “A Morning Song For the First Day of Spring”. It was published in a few hymnals but, at her death in 1965, was largely unknown.
March 18, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Friday, March 18.
This Sunday is the first day of spring! And we continue our series of devotions about creation and our Creator leading to that happy holiday.
Spring is a season of renewal, of regeneration, of beginnings. Each day, if our eyes are open, God will show us something new. The grass is greening up, the flowers are blooming, the trees are exploding with color. Praises to our Creator!
Genesis 1:1. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

We continue today with our four-part series on creation and the Creator, leading to this Sunday’s first day of spring. Our worship service this Sunday will feature one of my favorite hymns, “This is My Father’s World.”

Today my subject is family. During our lives we may have several families - spouses, children, second marriages, step kids, grand kids, etc. But my focus this morning is on the family we grew up with - mom, dad, brother, sisters.
That first family features a unique connection for most of us. Our siblings know us in a way that no one else does. And brothers and sisters know their parents in a unique way as well.

I love language. I love words. I take great care in choosing the words that go into these little daily thoughts. I hope that, from time to time, my words inspire you, encourage you, comfort you.
But when it comes to inspiration and encouragement, there's no better source than the Word of God. And If you’re looking for words of comfort today, you’ve come to the right place.
John 16:22. Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.
March 11, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Friday, March 11.
This Sunday at First Baptist, Center, we'll begin our service by celebrating the royalty of our Heavenly Father. Our worship center will be filled with the sounds of songs like "Lead On, O King Eternal" and "Crown Him With Many Crowns" and "Sing to the King". We serve a majestic God!
Royalty isn't something you work your way into, isn't a position you can earn. Royalty is a birthright. And so, as children of God, we are "born again" into His royal family.
