David’s Daily Devotion for April 14

April 14, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Thursday, April 14.

Final words are important. You want your final words to be memorable. You want your final words to outlive you. These final words have lived on -

"It is very beautiful over there." - Thomas Edison

"Swing low, sweet chariot." - Harriet Tubman

"All is well." - George Washington

"The comedy is ended." - Ludwig Beethoven

David's Daily Devotion for April 11

April 11, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Monday, April 11.

I hope you had a wonderful and blessed Palm Sunday. And now... on to Easter! But what happened on all those days between those two Sundays? Each day this week we’ll take a look.

On Monday, Jesus returned to Jerusalem. He and His disciples had spent the night before in Bethany, two miles east of the Holy City, at the home of good friends Mary, Martha, and Lazarus. But on that morning they found themselves in the temple.

David’s Daily Devotion for April 7

April 7, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Thursday, April 7.

Our topic today? Taking the time to see what's right in front of us.

I’m a planner. I like to think about the future, set goals, prepare for tomorrow. But, sometimes, we can be so absorbed with what’s next, that we miss what’s happening now. We fail to see what’s right in front of us. And we miss out on a tremendous blessing.

David's Daily Devotion for April 6

April 6, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Wednesday, April 6.

This coming Sunday is Palm Sunday, that day when we echo the praises of those who lined the streets of Jerusalem, as Jesus entered the city. We’ll lift up our voices in worship, just as they lifted up their palm branches to honor Him. I hope that you will be able to gather with your brothers and sisters in Christ, with your church family, this Palm Sunday.

David's Daily Devotion for April 5

April 5, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Tuesday, April 5.

As I write this on Monday night, we’re under a tornado watch here in Tenaha, Texas. Tornadoes can occur in any month of the year, but become a particularly dangerous threat in April. On a Monday night in April of 1994, a category four tornado touched down in Lancaster, just south of Dallas, where my family lived.

David’s Daily Devotion for April 4

April 4, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Monday, April 4.

I love history. It was always my favorite subject in school. I love collecting, because every antique is a little piece of history. Yesterday our pastor shared a profound thought in his sermon - History, without His story, is incomplete.

Jesus is the center of history. We record time by either counting down to Bethlehem (BC) or by counting from it (AD). Jesus is the center of time. He is the center of God’s plan for mankind. He is the center of our story.
