In God's Word - Prayer (By Mike Mills)

May 22, 2018 - There are those who consider themselves to be followers of the Most High God who if asked to pray for someone or some thing would silently say to themselves, “ No, I am not going to pray for you or that thing which you ask for I have tried prayer and it has not worked for me.” Some would even admit that they could not pray for you because their prayers didn’t seen to be heard or answered by the Lord.

In God's Word - Heaven (By Mike Mills)

May 16, 2018 - There are universal questions about God and heaven, asked by most people during their lifetime. Those questions are; “Is there really a heaven? Is there a place where God lives, far above where I live? Can I someday go there and be with him, forever?

For the answers we need only to turn to the pages of God’s Word, the Holy Bible to see for ourselves the answers we all seek.

“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1)

The Good Seeds and The Weeds (By Mike Mills)

One day as Jesus sat by the sea and many people had come to hear his words he told a parable of the weeds. A story of a man who was planting seeds in his field, looking for a fruitful harvest to come.
And so Jesus said; “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field, but while his men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat and went away. So when the plants came up and bore grain, then the weds appeared also.” (Matt13:24-26)

Tested, Tempted, But True (By Mike Mills)

May 3, 2018 - As Jesus came up out of the waters of the Jordan from his baptism by John the Baptist the Holy Spirit of God came to rest on him and filled him and then led him into the wilderness for forty days during which time he did not eat.

The devil came to him there and tempted him with promises of worldly riches and power, all if Jesus would only bow to him and worship him instead of the Father God.

As Jesus became increasingly hungry the devil used his hunger as one of his temptations when he asked Jesus to turn a rock into bread and to eat.

In God's Word: A Clean Slate

May 2, 2018 - In Genesis, Chapter 6 we see the recounting of the flood which destroyed all life that lived on the earth other than the people and animals which God had to enter into the ark for protection.

The Bible says this about the man and his family, Noah, whom God saved to re-populate the earth after the flood would subside.

Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation. Noah walked with God. And Noah had three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. (Genesis 6:9-10)

'The Power of Salvation' by Mike Mills

April 26, 2018 - There is no power on earth like the power of salvation through Christ Jesus.

Let us look at how powerful was the redemption of one man, Saul of Tarsus, a man who tormented the followers of Christ in the early church of the Way.

One of the seven original deacons of the church was a man called Stephen, a righteous man who was a deacon but also preached the gospel to all who would listen.

This man Saul approved of the death of Stephen, a death by stoning for the crime of preaching the gospel of Christ Jesus.

“I Am” By Mike Mills

April 17, 2018 - Mankind has long thought about God, many gods.

The Greeks, who had over 100 gods/idols that they worshiped. The American Indian thought of a being they called the “Great Spirit”, a being which they gave all credit for their good fortune in life.

Moses too had such questions, even though he truly believed in and knew God, he was worried that he could not explain to his people just who God is.

United in Christ, Our Lord (By Mike Mills)

April 10, 2018 - United in Christ, our Lord-

Why does each person have a longing in his soul, a longing for more than the world can offer, for more than the world can provide? For what do we seek?

We seek for the unity that comes only with living in the Lord Jesus, of being in the Body of Christ. The unity that comes by being one with the Lord and many others, each being a single part of the Body of Christ which is the church of the Living God on earth.

Heirs by Grace By Mike Mills

April 4, 2018 - We have all heard of Jesus being called the Son of David and see this repeated many times in the New Testament. But, do we really understand why that is said so often about our Lord Jesus Christ? Let us look in the book of Matthew for a better understanding of the genealogy of the Lord Jesus.

It all starts with Abraham, the first to become a Jew, the first of the chosen ones of the Lord God. God called Abraham and promised him that he would be the Father of many, many people, more even than the sands of the sea shore.

Love One Another by Mike Mills

March 27, 2018 - Jesus came to give his life for others, that all might have eternal life in him.

He gave up his life willingly for no man nor men could have nailed him to that cross if he had not allowed it to happen.

Before he left ascending back to heaven he gave us many things, one of which is this commandment which he called “my commandment”, giving it utmost importance to all who would follow him.

This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.” (John 15:12)
