October 3, 2017 - “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” (2 Corinthians 1:3-4)
September 27, 2017 - Thus says the Lord: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool; what is the house that you would build for me, and what is the place of my rest.” (Isaiah 66:1)
September 25, 2017 - The wisest man who ever lived, king Solomon of Israel, lived a long life, a life filled with every reward known to man. Anything he desired was immediately available to him, both from God and from the people he served as king.
As he grew older and neared the end of his time here on earth he began to reflect upon what he had learned in all the years with all his wisdom.
The book of Ecclesiastes is the reflections of this old man.
September 22, 2017 - O Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up.” (Psalm 139:1-2)
“Though I walk through the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and your right hand delivers me.” (Psalm 138:7)
“Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence?” (Psalm 139:7)
“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.” (Psalm 139:13)
September 14, 2017 - We see these days much discussion of just what is marriage. Who should marriage be between? Is it correct for two men or two women to marry within their own sex?
Is marriage to be only for a single man and a single woman?
Just what is the correct and right marriage. The only answer I can give to that question is the answer to be found in God’s Holy Word. There are those who say that does not count, that the Bible is a book of fairy tales and should not be considered to be the inspired words of our Lord God.
September 5, 2017 - As I watch the rain fall steadily outside of our home and see the devastation south and east of us on the TV, I am reminded of this verse from Isaiah.
“For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered.” (Isaiah 65:17)
August 29, 2017 - August 21, 2017, a day when many across our nation saw a phenomenon rarely seen from this hemisphere.
A partial to total covering of our sun as our moon passed between the earth and the sun.
Many scholars and scientists make claims of a solar eclipse being the cause of the time described in the Bible when the earth went into darkness as Jesus hung in agony on the cross.
August 21, 2017 - In a world overtaken by the devil and sin there is much need for strength for all people to stand against the forces of evil. Much need for all to come together in love for Christ and one another to become the body of Christ as he intended from the beginning of his ministry on earth.
August 15, 2017 - There was a man of the Pharisee’s named Nicodemus, a ruler of Jews, who came to the Lord Jesus one night seeking answers to his questions of salvation and eternal life.
Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter the kingdom of God.” (John 3:5)
“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.” (Psalm 1:1-2)
First, I must tell you that I am a “blessed man”. Not because I am a perfect person, but far from it. I am a blessed man for God has taken me from a sinner, lost in a world of sin, and turned me into a “born-again-child of the Most High God.
