In God's Word By Mike Mills, Jan. 3rd

In 1 John, the Apostle tells us how we must "test the spirits" in these latter days in order to know the truth and that we must remember that God is love and we to must live in love for one another.

"Beloved do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world." (1 John 4:1)
How, you may ask can I know? Simple, if the prophet speaks of Christ coming in the flesh then he is from God, all others are from Satan.

December 27, 2016 - While the Bible is full of mysteries, today we look at samples of the 7 mysteries of Matthew Chapter 13 called by the Lord; "the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven".

The parables of Jesus are actually stories told in the physical but talking about the spiritual, they are parallels between the two worlds.

"For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him." (Matt 13:12)

November 29, 2016 - As John tells us in the 3rd Epistle of John; "Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good." (3 John 11)

In the 5th chapter of Ephesians the great Apostle Paul is tells us just how we should walk or live as God's children.

"For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light." (Ephesians 5:8)

November 16, 2016 - "For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light." (Ephesians 5:8)

In the 5th chapter of Ephesians the great Apostle Paul is telling us just how we should walk or live as God's children.

He makes no bones about it, telling us bluntly that as we are now blessed to be walking in the light of the Lord, we must act like it. In other words if we are going to talk the talk then we must walk the walk.

November 15, 2016 - Take Heed: During the 40 years the Israelites wandered in the wilderness, time after time God brought various hardships on them trying to get them to heed His warnings.

Examples of God's warnings of the perils of giving in to temptations are recorded in (1 Corinthians 10:5-11).

While these many warnings were done as examples for them, they are recorded in God's Word for our admonition as well.

November 8, 2016 - A wonderful truth, that if we only believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior then we are saved and enter into the family of God. So simple, yet so difficult for so many to accept as the truth.

"But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." (John 1:12-13)

November 1, 2016 - "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. " (1 Peter 5:8)

God's creations were pure, never having been corrupted until Satan entered the Garden of Eden, masquerading as a serpent.

His first act that we are aware of here on earth was to enter the garden and deceive Eve by telling half-truths and outright lies.

'Potato Chips' by Mike Mills

October 31, 2016 - A little boy wanted to meet God.  He knew it was a long trip to where God lived, so he packed his suitcase with a bag of potato chips and a pack of root beer, and started his journey.

When he had gone about three blocks, he met an old man.  He was sitting in the park, just staring at some pigeons.  The boy sat down next to him and opened his  suitcase.  He was about to take a drink from his root beer when he noticed that  the old man looked hungry, so he offered him some chips.  He gratefully accepted It and smiled at him.
