In God's Word by Mike Mills, Oct 25th

October 25, 2016 - Job sat in the land fill, the dump, and scratched his sores with bits of broken pottery from the pile. He was covered from head to toe with running sores, boils.

His 10 children had all been killed in a storm. His possessions had all been stolen by thieves. His wife told him to just; "curse God and die". While his friends had accused him of grave sins for which he was surely being punished by the Lord.

In God's Word by Mike Mills, Oct. 11th

October 11, 2016 - Aaron, brother of Moses, was the High Priest of the Israelites during the time of the Exodus from Egypt. He was duly anointed and clothed and served as the Holy Representative of the people to God. Aaron served honorably and made intercession for the people as long as he lived, but he died and was replaced.

Our High Priest makes intercession for us but will never die.

In God's Word by Mike Mills, Sept 27th

September 27, 2016 - This week we look at the book of 2 Corinthians at the special assignment given to Titus by the Apostle Paul.

The church at Corinth had pledged a certain amount of money to Paul for the needy in the church in Jerusalem. They had pledged, but not delivered, and Paul is trying to get them to hold true to their word as he had used them as an example of generous giving to get other churches to help to supply funds for the needy in Jerusalem.

In God's Word by Mike Mills, Sept 20th

September 20, 2016 - "And Joses or Joseph, who was also named Barnabas by the apostles (which is translated Son of Encouragement), a Levite of the country of Cyprus, having land, sold it, and brought the money and laid it at the apostles' feet." (Acts 4:36-37)

No one forced Barnabas to sell his possessions and bring the proceeds to the apostles. No one commanded him to do so and others had already done so. He was not the first to step forward in support of the new church. Barnabas was not, however, following someone's example.

In God's Word by Mike Mills, Sept 6th

September 6, 2016 - Christians have been watching for Jesus to return to earth since His ascension to the Father for He promised that He would indeed return for his own.

He gave us this advice before he left; "Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. But you know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore, you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect." (Matthew 24:42-44)

In God's Word by Mike Mills, Aug 30th

August 30, 2016 - The Apostle Paul calls upon all Christians to give of themselves in service to the Lord. He asks us; "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your "reasonable service". And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." (Romans 12:1-2)

August 9, 2016 - "But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased (to reduce or lower); and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted (raised or elevated)." (Matt. 23:11-12)

Is there even such a thing as "humble pride"? Paul gives us an example of humble pride when he says; "By the grace of God I am what I am." (1 Corinthians 15:10)
