First Responders Appreciation Lunch This Friday

May 18, 2022 - Center Independent School District and the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors will host an Appreciation Lunch for First Responders, throughout Shelby County this Friday, May 20th between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at the Center ISD Transportation Department.

First Responders including police officers, department of public safety officers, constables, Sheriff Deputies, firemen, medics, Game Wardens and law enforcement officials will be honored guests.

46th East Texas Poultry Festival Seeks Arts, Crafts Vendors

May 17, 2022 - Planning is underway for the 46th East Texas Poultry Festival, presented by Farmers State Bank. The Poultry Festival will be held October 6-8th on the historic downtown Center square. Arts and Crafts vendor applications are being accepted at the Shelby County Chamber office until Friday, September 16th. May 10, 2022 - All Hours Fitness recently completed its 6,000 square foot expansion and is having a Ribbon Cutting on Tuesday, May 24th at 11:00am to show off the facility.

Electronic Recycle Day at R&J Disposal This Friday

April 18, 2022 - Electronics Recycle Day is scheduled for this Friday, April 22nd from 8:00am until 4:00 pm. The drop off location will be at R&J Disposal, 306 FM 2468 (Portacool Drive) right before you get to Portacool. Electronic items only may be recycled.

The Recycle service is provided free to the public as a service of the Shelby County Beautiful Clean program of the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce and our generous Sponsor, Republic Services.

April 4, 2022 - Hopkins Wrecker Service is having a relocation Ribbon Cutting on Thursday, April 21 at 11am and the public is invited to attend and see the new facility.

Hopkins Wrecker Service has been in the towing business since 1979. Mark Hopkins, manager is a second generation tow operator having been in the industry for over 30 years.

April Lunch and Learn to Feature S.C. Children's Advocacy Center

April 19, 2022 - The Chamber of Commerce Health Care Committee is hosting the April Lunch and Learn on Wednesday, April 27th at 12 noon at the AgriLife Extension Office. Our guest speaker for April will be Denise Merriman, Director of the Shelby County Children’s Advocacy Center.

Electronic Recycle Day, Shred Day

April 8, 2022 - Time to start your Spring Cleaning. The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce announces there will be an Electronic Recycle Day on Friday, April 22nd and a Shred Day on Friday, April 29th.

You may take your electronics (only electronics) to R&J Recycling and Disposal on Friday, April 22nd between the hours of 8am and 4pm. R&J Recycling and Disposal is located at 306 FM 2468, right before you reach the Portacool plant. Volunteers will be available to help unload your vehicle.
