December 12, 2022 - S. W. Carter Elementary School students competed in an Elementary School Academic UIL Meet held at Shelbyville on December 6th and 8th.

“Students, sponsors, administrators and parents are to be commended for the commitment required by academic competition,” said Lisa Parker, UIL Assistant Director. “Experience gained through extracurricular activities is far more valuable than medals or trophies.”

November 10, 2022 - Shelbyville High School’s Emily Pharris, competed at the 2A State Cross Country Championship, at Old Settler’s Park in Round Rock, Texas on November 4, 2022 and brought home a gold medal.

October 26, 2022 - On Monday October 21st, the Lady Dragons and Dragons competed in the Regional Cross Country meet in Huntsville, TX. Up first, the Lady Dragons ran a great race with Emily Pharris finishing second place overall. The team came up short missing the state race by 2 team places. Emily has shown up and worked extremely hard for us everyday! We are extremely proud of her and this accomplishment. The following race were the boys who competed well. Jodavian Mathis led for the Dragons finishing the race 8th in all and qualifying for the state Meet.

October 19, 2022 - On Saturday, October 15th The Shelbyville High School Band participated in the Region 21 UIL Marching Contest held in Longview, Texas. The Dragon Band went away from the contest with a 1st division rating from all three judges. This is the highest possible score at the contest. As a result, the band now qualifies for the UIL State Military Marching Band Competition, which will take place Tuesday, November 1st at Baylor University McLane Stadium.
