Shelbyville Debate Students Compete in Austin

March 22, 2022 - On March 14-15, Shelbyville students Eli Taylor, Hallie Merriman, Aubree Camp, and Ava Silva competed in the U.I.L. cross examination debate state tournament in Austin, TX. Ava Silva was awarded the 3rd highest speaker award in the state on the first day of competition and Ava and Aubree finished 3rd overall in the state on day two. In cross examination debate, students and coaches research and present solutions to real world policy issues.

Shelbyville Dragons One Act Play to Compete at Bi-District

March 3, 2022 - Shelbyville High School's UIL One Act Play, “The Crucible,” will compete at the Bi-district O.A.P. competition to be held at Panola College, March 22.

The competition begins at 10am, and shows will run back-to-back. (No children under the age of seven will be admitted.) Earning recognition at the District competition are Brenda Bautista (Honor Crew), Eli Taylor (Honorable Mention All Star Cast), Ava Silva (HMASC), Dawson Jackson (HMASC), Gracie Leach (All Star Cast), and Kara Jones (ASC).
