S. W. Carter Elementary School New Student Registration for 2018-19

August 1, 2018 - S. W. Carter Elementary School will have pre-registration for new students moving into the district (Pre-k-5th grade) August 6 - 9 from 8am until 3pm. Please bring your child’s report card, immunization record, certified birth certificate, social security card and proof of residency.

S. W. Carter Award Presented to Parker Chase

June 7, 2018 - The S.W. Carter Award was presented to Parker Chase for the 2017-2018 school year.

This award is established in memory of S. W. Carter, an educator who displayed outstanding qualities of leadership, a marked respect for improving Shelbyville Independent School District and our community and shown a reverence for life.

S. W. Carter Elementary President’s Award for Educational Excellence, Achievement

President’s Award for Educational Excellence

June 7, 2018 - The President’s Award for Educational Excellence was established to recognize academic success in the classroom. It is designed to encourage students to achieve high academic standards by recognizing and rewarding them for educational excellence. To receive this award, fifth grade students must have high achievement on the math or reading portion of the 5th grade STAAR test and earn a grade point average of 90 or above in the fourth and fifth grades.

S. W. Carter Elementary Perfect Attendance for the Year 2017-2018

June 7, 2018 - Attendance in school is usually a good predictor of a student’s academic performance. Students with excellent attendance records have a better chance to perform well in the classroom. The following students did not miss a day and were in attendance 167 days this year. It takes a great deal of determination and effort to attend school the entire year and not miss a day.

S.W. Carter Elementary School 2018-2019 Pre-K, Kindergarten Registration

April 3, 2018 - S. W. Carter Elementary School will have pre-kindergarten and kindergarten pre-registration for the school year 2018-2019 in the principal’s office April 23 – April 27. Registration will be held between the hours of 8:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

In order to register your child please bring the following:

Copies of certified birth certificate, immunization record, social security card, and proof of Shelbyville ISD residency. We also need a copy of your current pay stub, if registering for Pre-kindergarten.
