October 30, 2023 - The staff and Friends of the Library of the Fannie Brown Booth Memorial Library in Center would like to thank all the workers who volunteered their time to make this book sale a success. We would also like to thank everyone who made donations of books and our customers who bought them. We hope everyone had a great time and got lots of good books to read.
We would like to remind everyone that we still need workers to take down everything on Tuesday, October 31.

October 24, 2023 - The Piney Woods Photographic Society held their regular monthly meeting this past Saturday at the First Methodist Church, 211 Cora Street, Center, Texas. The October Challenge was "Colors" Members submitted photographs of this choice featuring Complimentary colors, Analogous colors, and Monochromatic colors as shown on the color wheel.

October 19, 2023 - The Center Woman’s Reading Club met October 5. After the business meeting the club enjoyed a time of fellowship and a delicious lunch provided by Angie Davis. Dottie West presented a most interesting book report on the novel The Burial Place written by Larry Enmon. Mr. Enmon grew up in Shelbyville, Texas. He and his wife now reside in Dallas but often visit the family farm in Shelbyville. Known for writing suspense thrillers and crime mysteries, he often includes references and storylines in East Texas towns in his novels. He is retired from the U.S.
October 18, 2023 - The Fannie Brown Booth Memorial Library is having its Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale beginning October 24th through October 28th during regular library hours. We have lots of cookbooks, gardening, fiction, non-fiction, children and young adult books. Hardback copies are $1.00 and paperbacks are 50 cents. Children's books are 3 for $1.00. The library is still accepting donations of books in good condition from now until next week.
