May 21, 2024 - The Piney Woods Photographic Society held their regular monthly meeting this past Saturday. The May Challenge was "Animals/Pets" with members submitting up to three of their favorite pet or animal photos for Favorite Voting by club members and discussions. The 1st Place Favorite was "Help!!" by Debra Cockrell. There was a tie for 2nd/3rd Place Favorite: "Jack's Joyride" by Billie Haggard Jones and "Afternoon Snack" by Bobbie Jean Wood.

May 20, 2024 - Shelby County Junior Chamber of Commerce (JCC) members at Center Middle School presented Divine Ministries with a donation check on Monday, May 20, 2024.

May 20, 2024 - Kathy Luna, of Center, Texas and a 2021 Graduate of Shelbyville High School, made the Provost's Honor Roll at the Midwestern State University for the Spring Semester. Luna's major is Radiologic Technology.

Midwestern State University recognized 990 honor students for the Spring 2024 semester. The President's Honor Roll included 407 students, the Provost's Honor Roll included 282 students and the Dean's Honor Roll included 301 students.
