January 5, 2024 - For a limited time only, West Shelby County VFD is offering their remaining tickets for a two gun drawing - Ruger 556 AR Rifle and a Springfield xdmi 9mm. Tickets are $10 each or six for $50. Need not be present to win. Tickets will continued to be sold until January 23, or until sold out.

This is your last opportunity to get tickets for the Ruger donated by Richard and Vicki Tomlin and the Springfield donated by Roscoe McSwain.

January 5, 2024 - Good Morning! It's Friday, January 5.

I've been thinking about beginnings and endings.

On January 5,1954, a young truck driver walked into Sun Studio in Memphis and made a recording. Elvis Presley went on to sell 500 million records, but that was the first one.

On January 5,1970, four lads from Liverpool walked into Abbey Road Studio in London and made a recording. The Beatles would sell 600 million records, but that was the last one.

January 4, 2024 - I, David Cheatwood, am seeking office for Shelby County Commissioner, Precinct 3 as a Republican Candidate. I have been a lifelong resident of Shelby County, Joaquin, TX. My wife, Jennifer, and I have been married for over 22 years. I have 3 children Tanner, Maddisyn and Ryleigh. 

I was employed for over 15 years with Shelby County Road and Bridge until Sept. 2022. I have been employed with Tri-State Vacuum for the past year. I currently hold a Class A CDL. I have continued to operate and haul heavy equipment as needed for the company.

January 4, 2024 – Fratelli Beretta USA, Inc., a Mount Olive, N.J. establishment, is recalling approximately 11,097 pounds of Busseto Foods brand ready-to-eat charcuterie meat products that may be contaminated with Salmonella, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.

January 4, 2024 - Good Morning!  It's Thursday, January 4.

There's so much negative news as we start a new year - thought you might like something funny and sweet for today's devotion.  A third-grade teacher, as a class project, asked her students to write letters . . . to God.  The results were hilarious and heartwarming.  Here's a few of them.
