Her work put her into contact with many terminally ill patients, some of whom were her own loved ones. As a result of her experiences, and her personal grief, she developed a new type of care for those facing their final days, a system that we now know as hospice.

David's Daily Devotion for July 12

July 12, 2023 - Good morning! It's Wednesday, July 12.

I'm sure you'd agree that it's a good idea to begin and end each day with prayer. Well, on Wednesdays, that's exactly what happens at First Baptist Center. At 6am, a group of about 20 men meet at a local restaurant for a prayer breakfast. David’s Daily Devotion for July 11

July 11, 2023 - Good Morning! It's Tuesday, July 11.

On this day, in 1960, a book was published. It was written by a little known, previously unpublished writer from Alabama. Her editor told her to expect that, at most, only a few thousand copies would be sold. Instead, the novel went on to sell over 30 million copies, the writer won the Pulitzer Prize, and her story was made into an Oscar winning movie. It is my favorite book. You've probably guessed that I'm talking about "To Kill a Mockingbird".
