We continue this morning with a brief series on the subject of heaven. Tomorrow, a thought about "heaven on earth". Today, we give the Word of God the opportunity to teach us about the world to come. Heaven is mentioned in 54 of the Bible's 66 books. Christian author, David Jeremiah, puts it like this, "To visualize heaven accurately, study the Bible!"

July 18, 2023 - Good Morning! It's Tuesday, July 18.

This coming Sunday, our pastor will start a sermon series focused on the subject of heaven. And so, for the next few days, that will be our focus as well.

Have you heard it said that Eskimos have hundreds of words for "snow"? I don't know if that's true, but it's an interesting idea, and I guess it's safe to assume that, when something's important to you, you spend a lot of time and effort describing it.

Here, off the top of my head, are some words for "heaven".

RACA Program Expands Public Fishing, Paddling Access with New Sites

July 17, 2023 - The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is increasing public fishing and paddling opportunities in the state thanks to the addition of two leased river access sites through the River Access and Conservation Area (RACA) program. The new sites are located on the Brazos and San Marcos rivers, giving the public more options and flexibility to access these incredible waterways.

Sealcoat Project Set to Begin Throughout District

July 6, 2023 – Crews will set barricades this week in various locations throughout the Lufkin District as annual sealcoating operations are expected to begin by July 17, weather permitting.

The sealcoat process extends the life of an asphalt roadway and enhances the safety of the roadway by helping to prevent cracks and potholes.

July 14, 2023 - Mr. Charles J. Fertitta, Jr. started a company in Beaumont, Texas in 1921 with $1,800 and a Model T pickup. It was called “Seaport Coffee Company.” This coffee was made of 100% Arabica coffee beans, which appear to be the strongest available for human consumption.
