Summer Fish Kills

July 11, 2022 - There are a few ways that pond owners could experience a major fish die-off during these hot, dry summer months. Warm water already holds less dissolved oxygen than cold water and, when coupled with too large a fish population and the following conditions, we can expect to have fish die-offs. Ponds can maintain a maximum fish population of 1000 pounds of fish per surface acre.

Grant Assistance Available to Help Texans with Delinquent Mortgage, Tax, Insurance, HOA

July 11, 2022 - Homeowners in Texas are eligible for grant assistance administered by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs and it is meant to provide eligible homeowners with grants to pay past due mortgage payments and property taxes, insurance, and HOA fees.

The program is the Texas Homeowner Assistance Fund (TXHAF) program which is funded by the Homeowner Assistance Fund under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. For those who qualify, the program is meant to help avoid foreclosure as a result of delinquent mortgage or property tax payments.

In early July, 1776, the Revolutionary War had been going on for over a year.  General George Washington was in New York City with the bulk of his army, about 20,000 men.  And in New York Harbor were hundreds of British ships carrying over 30,000 enemy soldiers, poised to lay siege to that crucial city.

July 8, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Friday, July 8.

I love movies. I’ve always loved movies. These days we most often watch movies in our homes, but I love sitting in a darkened theater with a crowd of people, experiencing a film together. In 1975, I saw a movie with a crowd from my church, a religious film produced by the Billy Graham Association. It’s my favorite religious movie. It’s called “The Hiding Place”.
