April 11, 2025 - This week the Texas Senate welcomed DJ Daniel to the chamber. DJ is a 13 year old from the Houston area who is battling terminal brain and spine cancer. His dream is to become a police officer and he has set a goal to be sworn in by 1,000 law enforcement agencies across the country, which would be a record.

This week, he moved one step closer to that goal when he was sworn into as an officer with the Department of Public Safety (DPS).

April 9, 2025 - Good Morning! It’s Wednesday, April 9.

I’m in the great city of San Antonio for a few days, visiting family. My oldest daughter is here, and my only sister. My two favorite granddaughters are here, as well - my only two! I’ve always liked San Antonio. I grew up in Houston, and lived for fifteen years in Dallas, but the Alamo City is my favorite of the Big Three Texas towns. Almost 20 million people live in these three “metroplexes,” and the majority of them are from the same place - someplace else.

Today is the birthday of a man named Siddhartha Gautama. He was a wandering teacher who lived five centuries before Bethlehem. You may know him by his other name - Buddha. 500 million people follow his teachings today, and today’s devotion is about an encounter I had... with a Buddhist.

Timpson Volunteer Ambulance Service Thanks Masonic Lodge, Community

April 7, 2025 - The Timpson Volunteer Ambulance Service (TVAS) would like to thank the Timpson Masonic Lodge for hosting a fundraiser last weekend.

It was a great success! All the hard work from Grand Master Josh Tipton. And each member that donated their time and financial support to our organization.

April 4, 2025 - This week we welcomed the Texas Forestry Association (TFA) to the Texas Capitol. TFA, which has been active since 1914, has members in a variety of fields including logging, consulting, conservation, planting, and prescribed burning. We were proud to have this group (including Smokey the Bear) join us for a day at the Capitol!

He named his new venture Microsoft, and it grew like a California wildfire. Gates is now worth about 125 billion, and his little software company is valued at over one trillion dollars.
