Its recently adopted resolution recognizes the significance of Fair Housing Month as an important time to acknowledge, better understand, and support Equal Housing Opportunity.

Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission Approves Hunting Regulations Changes for 2021-22

March 26, 2021 — Hunting regulations for the 2021-22 season were approved by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission at its public meeting held online March 25. Hunters will see some changes this fall, including the elimination of the experimental pronghorn season in the northern Panhandle and extension of the general pronghorn season from 9 to 16 days statewide, and the addition of two days of hunting opportunity in the Special White-winged Dove Days within the South Dove Zone.

Forest Legacy Grants Acquire 23,000 Acres to Conserve Southern Forests

March 26, 2021 — The Southern Region of the U.S. Forest Service Forest Legacy Program acquired 23,327 acres in 2020, utilizing nearly $23 million in the form of competitive grants for conservation easements and fee simple purchases. Through this program, Texas A&M Forest Service acquired Fox Hunters Hill, a $1.6 million conservation easement consisting of over 2,387 acres of sustainably managed forestland adjacent to the Sabine National Forest.

TPW Commission Approves Changes to Freshwater Fishing Regulations for 2021-22

March 26, 2021 — The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission adopted multiple changes to the freshwater fishing regulations for the upcoming 2021-2022 season at the meeting held virtually March 25. Changes to length and bag limits for blue and channel catfish statewide and at specific locations highlight this year’s list of freshwater fishing regulation changes. The changes also include minor modifications to passive gear float dimensions.

County Accepting RFPS for County Depository of County Funds

March 24, 2021 - Shelby County is now accepting RFPS for the County Depository of County Funds. Bids will be received by the Shelby County Commissioners' Court for selection of an official depository of County funds. Ws must be submitted by 4:00pm on April 16, 2021. Proposals will be opened on April 28, 2021 at 10am in the courtroom of the Shelby County Courthouse located at 200 San Augustine St., Center, TX.
