Tri-C Head Start is NOW Taking Applications

March 12, 2018 - Tri-C Head Start is NOW taking applications for the 2018-2019 Program Year for children Birth to 5 years old. To complete and application you will need your child's birth certificate, insurance card, WIC card (if applicable), shot record and your proof of income (W-2, Tax Return, check stubs, award letter, etc.). Two New Construction Projects Beginning

March 12, 2018 Lufkin – Two pre-construction meetings were held recently, signaling new construction projects beginning in San Augustine and Nacogdoches counties.

Work has begun on FM 711 in San Augustine County that will include the reconstruction and widening of pavement to 24-foot from the Shelby County line to US 96. Crews are preparing right of ways and extending culverts.

Boil Water Notice for N.E.W. Water System (Rescinded)

March 9, 2018 - The  water on N.E.W. WSC no longer requires boiling. On March 6, 2018, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the N.E.W. Water Supply, #2030034, to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

Texas Historical Commission Kicks Off Stay an Extra Day in Texas Sweepstakes

March 9, 2018 - The Texas Historical Commission’s (THC) Texas Heritage Trails Program (THTP) is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year by launching a 10-month-long sweepstakes with prize packages offering travel getaways—one to each of the 10 trail regions. The Stay an Extra Day Sweepstakes encourages travelers to take a deeper dive into their explorations of the Lone Star State by staying an extra day.
