March 2, 2018 - The 2018 Annual Shelby County Livestock Show was held on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the Shelby County Expo Center. The sale will be held Saturday, March 3rd, at the John Dean Windham Civic Center, meal starting at 6pm.

February 28, 2018 - A Chicken Spaghetti plate benefit fundraiser for Dana Adams Fountain will be held Saturday, March 3rd from 11-2pm. Chicken Spaghetti plates for $7 at Excelsior gym on Hwy 7 West. Fountain is battling cancer and all the proceeds will go towards her medical bills.

February 27, 2018 – The University of Texas at Tyler announces 513 university students and 38 pharmacy students to its Fall 2017 Dean’s List.

UT Tyler Announces Fall 2017 President’s Honor Roll

February 27, 2018 – The University of Texas at Tyler announces 669 students to its Fall 2017 President’s Honor Roll.

In order to qualify for the President’s Honor Roll, a student must have completed, in one semester, 12 or more semester hours of undergraduate college-level credit with a grade of “A” in all courses. To be considered for such recognition in any semester, a student must qualify as a matriculated student pursuing a first bachelor’s degree. The President’s Honor Roll is awarded in fall and spring semesters only.
