May 15, 2017 Austin, TX – The Texas Legislature has approved Senate Bill 16 by Senate authors Senator Robert Nichols (R-Jacksonville) and Joan Huffman (R-Houston) and House sponsor Representative Phil King (R-Weatherford), which lowers the License to Carry fees in the State of Texas.

May 12, 2017 LUFKIN – As weather turns warmer, TxDOT workers and contractors are busy with construction and maintenance projects throughout the nine county Lufkin District.

Motorists are urged to exercise caution as they enter a work zone. Stay alert and watch for moving equipment and workers who might be near the lane of travel. Reduce speed and remember that traffic fines double when workers are present. Work planned for the Lufkin District in the coming week includes:
