April 4, 2016 - The Shelby County 4-H Photography contest was held on March 29, 2016 in the Shelby County Courthouse. We had a record number of participants ranked by the age divisions of Senior, Intermediate and Junior and judged in 15 different categories.

April 4, 2016 - Officials with the National Forests and Grasslands in Texas, Sabine  National Forest, have advised a prescribed burn located in Compartments 42, 43, 44 & 48, (Block A, B & C) 2,603 acres (Ragtown Area).   Winds are predicted from the South and Southwest to  7 mph, gusting to 9 mph.
