September 3, 2015 - An American Main Street Patriotic Ceremony will be held September 11, 2015 at 5 PM in downtown San Augustine.

September 2, 2015 - An enhanced hunter education course was held on the Center High School campus on Saturday, August 29, 2015 with Texas Game Wardens Anthony King and Nathan Skeen leading the instruction.

September 1, 2015 LUFKIN - The Texas Transportation Commission last week approved 91 construction projects statewide totaling more than $535 million, and includes five within the Lufkin District that total $16.8 million.

Of the 91 projects, 22 were approved using $304 million of Proposition 1 funding. Two Lufkin District projects were included in the latest round of Proposition 1 funding and totaled $11.7 million. The funds are used for roadway construction, restoration and rehabilitation and will improve mobility, safety and connectivity.

August 31, 2015 - The next several months we citizens will be subjected to being “bamboozled” by thousands of stump speeches and political commercials on television. Yes, it’s election time in the United States again.
