Attorney General Paxton Urges EPA to Extend Effective Date of WOTUS Rule

July 30, 2015 - Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has joined North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem and representatives from 29 other states urging the EPA to extend the effective date of the planned Waters of the U.S. (WOTUS) rule, which is currently set to go in effect August 28, 2015. Once the rule gets into effect, virtually every river, stream and creek in the U.S. will come under the oversight of bureaucrats from the EPA.

July 23, 2015 - The Federal Emergency Management Agency provides two main types of assistance following natural disasters, such as the Texas storms, tornadoes, straight-line winds and flooding that occurred May 4 through June 19.

Individual Assistance is provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to individuals and families who have sustained losses due to disasters.

Night Work Schedule in Nacogdoches County

July 22, 2015 - TxDOT officials will alternate lane closures on Business 59 in Nacogdoches County beginning at 8 p.m. Sunday, July 26th in order to begin a four-night seal coating project that will require adjoining businesses and residents to turn off their sprinkler systems.

The work will begin on South Street (Business 59) and work northward on North Street to Stallings Drive during the four night project. Work will begin at 8 p.m. each night and end at 6 a.m. each morning until the work is completed.

TxDOT Traffic Alert, Lufkin's Loop 287

July 22, 2015 - Lufkin’s Loop 287 from FM 58 to SH 103 east will be reduced to one lane of traffic for the remainder of this week.

Traffic is moving slowly in the area because of the annual seal coating being applied to the existing roadway. Motorists are asked to reduce speed and be alert to workers directing traffic and machinery that is in use as they travel through the construction area.
