Roughriders End Tatum's 10-Game Winning Streak

February 15, 2016 - Center Varsity Boys basketball team defeated the Tatum Eagles Friday, February 12th ending Tatum's 10-game winning streak and handing the Eagles their first loss of District play. The final score was Roughriders 71, Eagles 57. The win tied the two teams giving both a 6-1 record for 4A Region III District 19.

Tatum took charge of the first period with 18 points scored to Center's 9 points and at the half led by 5 points 28-33.

Center Roughrider Powerlifting Competes in Corrigan-Camden Meet

February 12, 2016 - Center Roughrider individual and team results from the Corrigan-Camden powerlifting meet held on February 12, 2016.

The Lady Riders placed 3rd as a team.
Elizabeth Chavez, Weight Class: 114.5 lb class; Squat: 195 lbs; Bench Press: 85 lbs; Deadlift: 180 lbs; Total: 470 lbs; Place: 2nd


Claire Spann, Weight Class: 123.5 lb class; Squat: 150 lbs; Bench Press: 65 lbs; Deadlift: 175 lbs; Total: 390 lbs; Place: 1st

Roughriders Win Against Eagles, 61-54

February 10, 2016 - The Center Boys Varsity basketball team played against Rusk Tuesday, February 9th winning 61-54 bringing their season to 15-8.

The Roughriders were ahead 14 to 6 at the end of the first period. The Eagles fought back in the second period scoring 18 points to the Riders 16 and tied the game at the end of the 3rd period, 41-41.

Riders didn't back down and went for the win during the 4th period scoring 20 points to the Eagles 13 and advanced their district standing to 5-1.

Free Hardwood Tree Seedlings from A&M Forest Service, Center FFA

February 8, 2016 - Texas A&M Forest Service has partnered up with Center FFA Students and will be giving away free hardwood tree seedlings to the public, Center High School AG Building 658 Roughrider Drive Center, TX 75935

The give-away will be on Friday, February 12, 2016 beginning at 11am until 3pm. Event will take place in the parking lot next to the Ag building. Follow signs.

The 2016 Arbor Day Celebration gives East Texans the opportunity to replenish trees that suffered drought and storm damage.
