Center Middle School Gym Remodeled, Video Tour

January 28, 2016 - After WWII the city was energized and by late 1948 it seemed to be time for a big forward step, a gymnasium for Center High School. The School board debated about options including remodeling the old “Exhibit Hall” on the fairgrounds, originally an air-craft hanger, but in the end, constructing an all new gym won. Proponents thought it would cost in the range of $25,000 and in the end, the cost estimate was doubled. I bet it helped that Center had some outstanding high school athletes at the time. 47th Annual Roughrider Powderpuff Classic

January 28, 2016 - Thursday night Feb 4 CHS will host the 47th Annual Powderpuff Classic at Roughrider Stadium. The annual flag football game featuring the Purple Senior & Freshmen Gridiron Gladiators v the Gold Junior & Sophomore Team will cost $3 for adults and $2 for students. Proceeds benefit the Center senior class.

Center Elementary School Places 2nd Overall at District UIL

January 27, 2016 - Center Elementary School and Center Intermediate competed in UIL last Saturday, January 23, in Carthage, Texas. Overall, Center placed second. Other schools competing were Tatum, Henderson, Rusk, and Carthage.

Center Basketball Girls Play Tatum

January 27, 2016 - Center Varsity Basketball Girls fell to Tatum on Tuesday night. The ending score was Center 27, Tatum 73.

Center Varsity points scored were: Nichols (15), Hightower (5), Hubbard (2), Rankin (2) and Lilly (1).

Tatum Varsity points scored were: Mitchell (22), Shans (16), Freeney (14), Gipson (11), Fite (4), Sammons (4) and Johnson (2).
