April 28, 2016 - Joaquin FFA member Madelynn Hutchins was elected to serve as Pineywoods District Reporter for the 2016-2017 school year at the District FFA Convention held at SFASU. Officer candidates were given an exam, personal interview, and delivered a speech at the convention.

April 21, 2016 - All first graders at Joaquin Elementary School were recently given free prevent tooth decay kits through the Fantastic Teeth Fan Club. Members of Joaquin Masonic Lodge, led by Jay Wilson, assembled and delivered more than 50 dental hygiene kits to the school.

April 14, 2016 - The Joaquin Lady Rams varsity softball team defeated their District 22 2A rivals, the Alto Lady Yellowjackets, by a convincing 12-1 score, last Tuesday, April 12. The game was cut short in the fifth inning due to the UIL ten-run-rule.
