County Judge Issues Statement on Resignation of Former Constable Metcalf

March 10, 2020 - Allison Harbison, Shelby County Judge, has issued a statement regarding the resignation of former Precinct 4 Constable Jake Metcalf. 

Initially, a meeting of the Commissioners' Court was held in December 2019, and as a result Metcalf was then stripped of his salary, vehicle and physical access to his office.

The statement issued today is as follows,

CR 3492 Re-Opened

March 10, 2020 - Commissioner Pct 3 Charles Barr is re-opening CR 3492 as repairs have been completed.

On Wednesday, March 11, CR 3853 will temporarily close after the school buses run to repair a culvert.


March 4, 2020 - Commissioner Charles Barr reports that a culvert has blown out on CR 3492 and the road will be closed until repairs can be made.

Dam Break Causes Flooding on CR 4021; Road is Passable Again

March 6, 2020 - County Road 4021 is open for traffic once again. Currently there are some barricades on the side of the road in the problem area. Travelers are asked to use caution in that area, the road is a little bit rough right now, and is not a full two lanes. Repair is expected for next week.


March 6, 2020 - A portion of CR 4021, two to three miles south of Timpson on SH 87, is closed due to a dam break. A newly established pond located in the woods off CR 4021 had a dam failure, which resulted in the flooding.
