May 16, 2019 - Loop 500 and the intersection of FM 2468 was the scene of a two-vehicle crash involving a white SUV and a pickup truck which was part of a construction crew resurfacing portions of Shelby County roadways.
Update: The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office reports Riki D’Shain Dutton surrendered himself today, May 14, 2019 into custody.
May 13, 2019 - The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) is seeking the whereabouts of Riki D’Shain Dutton, 27, of Center. Dutton is described as a 5’6” white male and weighs approximately 175 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes.
May 13, 2019 - The water on Denning Rural Public Water System no longer requires boiling. On May 9, 2019, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the Denning Rural Public Water System, #2030004, to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

May 9, 2019 - Precinct 4 Commissioner Tom Bellmyer has reported as of 4:54pm, May 10, 2019, the water across CR 4323 has receded and the road is now passable.
Precinct 4 Commissioner Tom Bellmyer reports flooding on CR 4323 in the river bottom at the location of the three bridge. Bellmyer estimates the water is 18 inches deep. Trucks have been able to go through but he encourages everyone to use extreme caution. Remember: Turn around, don't drown.
May 10, 2019 - More than 500 line and service personnel are working in the field to restore power, including crews from throughout SWEPCO and outside contractors, following severe storms that struck the Ark-La-Tex Wednesday.
May 10, 2019 - The Lufkin District is moving into late spring and early summer with many ongoing construction and maintenance projects. Motorists are urged to use caution, reduce speed and stay alert as they travel through a work zone. Obey all signage, flaggers and lead cars. Never drive around cones or barricades in a work zone. Also be prepared to stop.
