(Update): Severe thunderstorms will be possible across much of the Four State Region this afternoon and tonight. Damaging winds and large hail will be the primary threats, but a few tornadoes can't be ruled out. Also, locally heavy rainfall may result in flash flooding.

Shelby County, Surrounding Areas Under Flood Watch (Update - 9:44pm)

April 28, 2024 - (Update - 9:44pm): The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a Flash Flood Warning as of 9:05pm for Northwestern Angelina County in eastern Texas, Northern Nacogdoches County in eastern Texas, Northwestern Shelby County in eastern Texas, Southeastern Rusk County in northeastern Texas until midnight CDT tonight.

At 9:05pm CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

Center, Lufkin Men Sentenced to Federal Prison for Trafficking Meth in Separate Cases

April 26, 2024 – Two East Texas men have been sentenced to federal prison for separate drug trafficking violations in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney Damien M. Diggs.

Terrence D. Williams, 33, of Center, pleaded guilty to conspiring to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and was sentenced to 210 months in federal prison by Judge Crone on April 26, 2024.

Woman Guilty of Drug Trafficking Related to Meth Distributed at Nacogdoches Elementary School

April 24, 2024 - A Shreveport, LA, woman has pleaded guilty to federal drug trafficking violations in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney Damien M. Diggs.

Shatoya Doggett, 33, pleaded guilty to an Information charging her with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and aiding and abetting before U.S. Magistrate Judge Christine L. Stetson on April 24, 2024.

Jury Summons for 273rd District Court Cancelled

April 24, 2024 - The Jury summoned for Monday, May 6, 2024 for the 273rd District Court, Honorable James A. Payne, Jr., Judge presiding, has been cancelled.

All Cases have been passed or settled. Anyone receiving a summons for that day is released from jury service until they receive a future summons.

Timpson Street Partial Closure Today for Road Repairs

April 24, 2024 - Timpson Street is partially closed for road repairs under the roadway between Park Hill Lane and Margo Street. This section of Timpson Street will be closed Wednesday, April 24, beginning at 9am.
