Shelbyville ISD Closure Due to Flu Outbreak

December 16, 2025 - Shelbyville ISD will be closed Wednesday, December 17 and Thursday, December 18 due to a flu outbreak across the district.

This closure is being taken out of an abundance of caution to help protect the health of our students and staff. We encourage everyone to take this time to rest and recover.

Please continue to monitor our official communication channels for updates.  We will see you back on January 5, 2026.  Have a very Merry Christmas.

December 15, 2025 - The 2025 District 24AA Middle School One Act Play was held on November 14 in the Q.M. Martin Auditorium on the campus of Panola College in Carthage. Receiving special recognition from Shelbyville:

  • Sadie Collins- Best Performer
  • Carrie Matthews - Honor Tech Crew - Lights
  • Honorable Mention All-Star Cast - Chorus: Gentry Nelams, Mattilyn Page, Tenley Snell
  • All-Star Cast - Avery Taylor

December 15, 2025 - Shelbyville Middle School students competed in the 24AA Middle School Academic UIL District Meet held at SFASU on November 18.

"Students, sponsors, administrators and parents are to be commended for the commitment gained through extracurricular activities is far more valuable than medals or trophies," said Lisa Parker, UIL Assistant Director.

S.W. Carter Elementary School District 24AA Academic UIL Elementary School 2025 Champion

December 15, 2025 - S. W. Carter Elementary School students competed in the 2-AA Elementary School Academic UIL District Meet held at SFASU on November 17. They are the 2025 District 24AA Academic UIL Elementary School Champion. Students, sponsors, administrators and parents are to be commended for the commitment required by academic competition, said Lisa Parker, UIL, Assistant Director. "Experience gained through extracurricular activities is far more valuable than medals or trophies."

Shelbyville Middle School Students to Compete in UIL District 24AA Meet

November 14, 2025 - Shelbyville Middle School students will compete on the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University in the 2025 Middle School Academic ULI District 24AA Meet on November 18th. Schools competing include Chireno, Colmesneil, Corrigan-Camden, Hemphill, San Augustine, Shelbyville, West Sabine, and Woden. The Middle School One Act Play competition will be held at Panola College on November 14th.
