October 15, 2024 - The Shelbyville High School Band will participate in the Region 21 UIL Marching Contest on Saturday, October 19th at Longview High School Lobo Stadium. The Dragon Band marches at 12:15pm. Each band will be given a rating by three judges of 1 through 5, 1 being a superior performance. The Dragon Band received straight 1's from all three judges last year, which qualified them for the UIL State Military Marching Contest where they were awarded the UIL State Bronze medal.

August 26, 2024 - A special called meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Shelbyville Independent School District will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024, beginning at 12pm, in the Board Room of the Shelbyville Independent School District at 5322 St Hwy 87 S, Shelbyville, Texas.

August 12, 2024 - Across Shelby County, the 2024-2025 school year is underway with five of the local schools having started. Tenaha and Timpson started their school year last week. For Center Christian Academy, Joaquin, and Shelbyville the new school year started today, August 12. Tomorrow, Center and Excelsior will start and finalize the back-to-school season.
