January 8, 2025 - A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Shelbyville Independent School District will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, beginning at 6pm, in the Board Room of the Shelbyville Independent School District at 5322 St. Hwy 87 S, Shelbyville, Texas.

December 17, 2024 - S. W. Carter Elementary School students competed in the 24AA Elementary School Academic UIL District Meet held at SFASU on December 10th. They are the 2024 District 24AA Academic UIL Elementary School Champion.

“Students, sponsors, administrators and parents are to be commended for the commitment required by academic competition,” said Lisa Parker, UIL Assistant Director. “Experience gained through extracurricular activities is far more valuable than medals or trophies.”

Receiving awards from Shelbyville:

December 4, 2024 - Shelbyville Middle School students will compete on the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University in the 24AA Middle School Academic UIL District Meet on December 11th. Schools competing include Chireno, Colmesneil, Corrigan-Camden, Hemphill, San Augustine, Shelbyville, West Sabine, and Woden. The Middle School One Act Play competition will be held at Panola College on Wednesday, December 4th. 

November 19, 2024 - S.W. Carter Elementary announces the students who achieved Perfect Attendance for the 2nd Six Weeks of the 2024-2025 school year.

Pre-Kindergarten - Coy Clark, Elliot Eaves, Leah Gonzalez, Harper Harbison, Tomie Nelams, August Owens, Evan Scarber, Paislee Sims, Madison Snider, Bryston Williams, and Logan Wright

November 18, 2024 - The Shelbyville Dragons will play Beckville at Nacogdoches High School on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 7pm.

Shelbyville will be the visitors. Tickets will be $8 for adults and $5 for students. District, THSCA and senior citizen passes will be accepted.
