October 29, 2018 - The Shelbyville Band Boosters will have a meeting on Monday, November 5th at 6 PM. The meeting will be held in the Band Hall. Everyone is invited to attend.
October 26, 2018 - On Wednesday, October 24, the Shelbyville Dragon twirlers participated in the UIL Region 21 Twirling Solo and Ensemble contest at Lufkin High School. The following member were awarded a 1st Division rating for their performance:
October 24, 2018 - Dave Campbell's Texas Football School of the Week presented by U.S. Army selected Shelbyville as the 2A school of the week for Week 8.
In the announcement, Shelbyville is described as follows: In a wild back-and-forth affair, the Dragons got six total touchdowns from QB Jaylon Brinson and held of a West Sabine in overtime, 44-42.
October 22, 2018 - The Shelbyville Band attended UIL Region 21 Marching Contest on October 20 at SFASU. The band received a 1st division rating from each judge at the contest and will perform at Area Marching Contest on October 27 at Pine Tree High School (Longview - schedule is TBD).
October 16, 2018 - Shelbyville Cross Country Teams competed in District at New Summerfield High School on October 10, 2018. Congratulations Shelbyville Cross Country! Junior varsity girls team took 1st place and consisted of Faith Ridgeway, Alicia Gaitlin, Jakaitlon Bolton, Taniya Barnes, Macy Swindle, Brooke Elliott, and Kiouja Gates.
Varsity girls took 3rd place and advanced to Regionals. They are Jasmine Osby, Kenzie Murry, Molly Windham, Kiana Bennett, Kate Lawson (6th Place Finisher), and Giselle Hernandez (8th Place Finisher).
October 10, 2018 - The Dragon Band will perform at the NAMMB (National Association of Military Marching Bands) Pre-UIL Marching Contest in Carthage, TX at Bulldog Stadium on Saturday, October 13 at 11am.
The Dragon Band’s Region 21 UIL Marching Contest performance will be on Saturday, October 20 at 11:15am in Nacogdoches, TX at Homer Bryce Stadium (SFA).
The band is lead by Band Director Deshmond Johnson and Asst. Band Director Kaci Trent Ashley.
