Four of Shelby County’s Five varsity football teams won their regular season openers last week.

The Center Roughriders took a 38-7 home win over the Jacksonville Indians. This Friday September 6, 2024 the ‘Riders head to Spring Hill High School to face the Panthers who lost their home opener 50-48 to the Sabine Cardinals. Kickoff at Panthers Stadium will be at 7:30 p.m.

August 28, 2024 - This week all five Shelby County varsity football teams will begin their 2024 regular season games.

The Center Roughriders will host the Jacksonville Fighting Indians on Friday, August 30, 2024. Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m. at Roughriders Stadium.

August 23, 2024 - The Riders hosted Pineywoods Academy and swept the competition on Thursday, August 22.

The match began with doubles and the Riders line 1 boys doubles of Logan Galindo / Chris Acosta had the closest match of the day winning 6-2, 7-6. The rest of the doubles were all dominated by Center who  led 7-0 after doubles.

The singles matches would also go Center's way with only one match going into a close tiebreaker.

The day ended in a clean sweep at home winning 19-0.

This improves our record to 5-3 and 2-0 in District play.

• Joaquin hosts Logansport, 6:30pm (Meet the Rams at 5:30pm in gym)

• Timpson hosts Mt. Enterprise 6pm

• Team Tennis hosts Pineywoods, 4pm
