February 18, 2016 - Lady Riders are proud to announce they won their game one, against Hemphill, 5 to 4. This is the first game in the two day softball tournament in Lufkin on Feb 18th and 19th. Next game will be tonight at 7:30. Admission cost is $5 for adults and $3 for students. Adult tournament pass is $12, student pass is $8. No refunds will be given due to rain outs. Tournament locations are as follows; Kit Mcconnico Park located at 903 Old Moffett Rd., Lufkin, TX 75901 and Morris Frank Park located at 513 Windsor Rd., Lufkin, TX 75901.
February 18, 2016 - The Shelby County Bass Anglers kicked off the 2016 tournament season with a Sam Rayburn Showdown sponsored by General Shelters. Josh Sowell and John Paul Packard set the pace with a winning sack of 23 lbs anchored by the largest bass of the event weighing 8.32 lbs. Coming in second was the father son team of Wayne and Matt Wood with an impressive limit of bass weighing 20.05 lbs. Despite being new to the club, the team of Rusty Hatcher and Chad Loupe showed their skills capturing the third place limit of bass weighing 19.40 lbs. Rounding out the money slots was the Skeeter Boats team of 
Michael Andrews and Lane Jackson with a weight of 18.61 lbs. The team of Frank and Selvin Cartwright caught the second overall big bass of 7.99 lbs. The team combo pot was won by Sowell/ Packard teamed up with Andrews/ Jackson with a combined weight of 41.61 lbs.
The next event for the SCBA is scheduled for March 12-13th out of Holly Park Marina on Toledo Bend with a pre-tournament meeting set for Tuesday March 8th at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Center. Anyone interested in joining the club is invited to attend this meeting. More detail about the club can be found at www.shelbycountybassanglers.com.
February 17, 2016 - Basketball Playoff Game Center Roughriders vs Jasper Bulldogs will be Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 8 pm at Lufkin ISD Middle School Gym, 900 E Denman Avenue, Lufkin, TX 75901.
Tickets are $5 adults and $3 students sold at the gate.
February 17, 2016 - Center boys varsity basketball team fell in their second game of district competition against Henderson with a final score of 51-58. Riders had a decisive victory over the Henderson Lions at their previous match but failed to rally against the Lions in Tuesday's game, February 16th.
Points scored were Octavius Evans (23), Tyrone Roland (9), Kaleb Parks (6), Kyle Parks (6), Lamarcus Goodwin (3), DaCorey McGee (2), and Jaterious Evans (2).
The loss brings the Roughriders to a 16-9 overall season and 6-2 district as they head into Bi-District round of playoffs. The Roughriders have a neutral playoff game against Jasper on Tuesday, February 23 at 8pm.

February 15, 2016 - Center Varsity Boys basketball team defeated the Tatum Eagles Friday, February 12th ending Tatum's 10-game winning streak and handing the Eagles their first loss of District play. The final score was Roughriders 71, Eagles 57. The win tied the two teams giving both a 6-1 record for 4A Region III District 19.
Tatum took charge of the first period with 18 points scored to Center's 9 points and at the half led by 5 points 28-33.
The Roughriders came back after the half dominating the game and winning by 14 points overall. Center scored 43 points in the 3rd and 4th periods together over Tatum's 24 points.
Points scored were by Octavius Evans (27), Jaterious Evans (15), Kyle Parks (12), DeCorey McGee (8), Kaleb Parks (5), Sayoddrick Barnes (2), and Tyrone Roland (2).
Riders are currently 6-1 in District and 16/8 for the season. The 9/JV/V teams play Henderson on Tuesday, February 16th in Henderson with games starting at 5pm.
