February 10, 2016 - The Center Boys Varsity basketball team played against Rusk Tuesday, February 9th winning 61-54 bringing their season to 15-8.

The Roughriders were ahead 14 to 6 at the end of the first period. The Eagles fought back in the second period scoring 18 points to the Riders 16 and tied the game at the end of the 3rd period, 41-41.

Riders didn't back down and went for the win during the 4th period scoring 20 points to the Eagles 13 and advanced their district standing to 5-1.

The boys will face Tatum (6-0) Friday, February 12th in Center at 7:30pm which will be Senior Night.

February 10, 2016 - The Lady Rams will play Alto at Tenaha ISD on Tuesday, February 16th beginning at 7:30 pm.  Please come out and show your support for our Lady Rams!

February 10, 2016 - Saturday, February 13 at 10 am - Shelbyville High School Baseball Field. There will be a Homerun Derby after the game $5 per 10 balls.

February 8, 2016 - The tennis team competed in the Jacksonville varsity tournament this past Friday and the results are as follows:

Girls singles A: Whitlee Reed - 3rd place
Girls singles B: Mackenzie Dykes - 2nd place
Girls doubles A: Allison Langford / Malory Nehring - 1st place
Girls doubles B: Emma Locke / Zoie Eberenz - 9th
Mixed doubles A: Dustin Bennett / Megan Dunn - 1st in consolation
Mixed doubles B: Nate Morris / Iliana Rojas - 1st place
Boys singles A: Zack Fausett - 1st in consolation
Boys singles B: Chris Luna - quarter finalist
Boys doubles A: Mauricio Solis / Abram Morales - quarter finalist
Boys doubles B: Kobe Whisenant / Sam McSwain - quarter finalist

The girls team point totals for Center gave the Lady Riders 1st overall.

The tournament had eleven schools participating and were mostly comprised of 4A and 5A schools in the area.

The tennis team will travel to Kilgore 2/12 for Varsity and 2/16 for JV

February 8, 2016 - Center Middle School Boys basketball games scheduled for Thursday, February 11, 2016 will begin at 5PM in Tatum.

Roughrider Powerlifting Team Lifts to 2nd Place at Kirbyville Meet

February 6, 2016 - The Center Roughrider Powerlifting team placed 2nd overall at the Kirbyville Powerlifting Meet held February 4th with three Riders winning 1st in their weight class.

Winning 1st in their class was Brenden Stanley won the 123.5 lb weight class with a combined lift of 610 lbs; JaCarlos Hall won the 165.5 lb weight class with a total of 1,090 lbs; and Witt Dockens won in the 198.5 lb class with a total of 1,185 lbs.

The Lady Riders placed 7th as a team with three lifters. Elizabeth Chavez and Claire Spann each took 3rd place in their class and Karson Milford won 7th place.

February 4, 2016 - The Lady Dragons basketball team defeated Timpson 38-34 Friday night, January 29th in district play to advance to 5-2 in district. Points scored were J. Ross (2), K. Vaughn (9), J. Jenkins (19), M. Taylor (2), and J. Osby (2).

Their next game was against Tenaha on Tuesday, February 2nd and the Dragons lost with a final score of 59-48. The Lady Dragons will play at home against Joaquin on Friday, February 5th.

February 3, 2016 - Last day for registration for Joaquin Youth Sports at Word of Faith Gym is Saturday, February 13 from 10am-2pm.

*All boys must be 5 years old by April 30, 2016 in order to play.
*All girls must be 5 years old by January 1, 2016 in order to play.

****Fees--- $85 for first child, $80 for second child, $35 for third child with a cap at $200.

Please bring your child with you to sign ups to try on uniforms. You will also need to bring a copy of your child’s birth certificate.
