April 19, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Tuesday, April 19.
This coming Sunday, at First Baptist Center, we’ll be “walking through the New Testament”. A guest teacher from the Walk Through the Bible organization will be with us for three sessions, giving us an engaging, interactive, entertaining overview of the New Testament. Should be fun.
This Friday and Saturday, 23 members of our church will read through the New Testament from Matthew to Revelation. You can view it on our Facebook Live site. Should be fun.
April 18, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Monday, April 18.
I hope you had a wonderful, blessed, and encouraging Easter weekend. Here at First Baptist Church of Center, Texas, on Saturday, we welcomed our community to a “Party in the Park”. Several hundred children and young families joined us for fun, food, and Easter eggs. Lots of smiles and laughter. It was encouraging.
April 16, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Saturday, April 16.
We focus this morning on two very unlikely followers of Jesus. These two were members of the Jewish Sanhedrin - their Supreme Court. They were wealthy and powerful men. They had a lot to lose. And yet, as Jesus was taken down from the cross, they were there. As His disciples were nowhere to be found, Joseph of Arimethea and Nicodemus were there.
April 15, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Friday, April 15.
Today is Good Friday. Have you ever wondered why the adjective "good" is applied to the day that Jesus died? It goes to the changing definitions of words over time. At one time, "good" was a synonym for "holy" - and we can certainly see the appropriateness of that adjective for this sacred day.
April 13, 2022 - Good Morning! It’s Wednesday, April 13.
Wednesday of Holy Week saw Jesus and His disciples back in Bethany, a couple of miles east of Jerusalem, near the Mount of Olives. It would be a day of dramatic contrasts. A day with an inspiring act of worship and a disturbing act of betrayal.
April 12, 2022 - Good Morning! It's Tuesday, April 12.
On Tuesday of Holy Week, Jesus and The Twelve were back in the Jerusalem temple. Friday would be a day of incredible testing for Jesus, but Tuesday would have testing of its own.

I hope you had a wonderful and blessed Palm Sunday. And now... on to Easter! But what happened on all those days between those two Sundays? Each day this week we’ll take a look.
On Monday, Jesus returned to Jerusalem. He and His disciples had spent the night before in Bethany, two miles east of the Holy City, at the home of good friends Mary, Martha, and Lazarus. But on that morning they found themselves in the temple.
April 9, 2022 - Once in a great while, we encounter a person who isn't afraid to speak truth to power. A person who puts their own safety at risk, in order to stand up for what is right. The German pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer was just such a person.

On April 8, 1966, Time Magazine published an issue that rocked the world. For the first time since Time began in 1923, there was no picture on the cover, just three words in red ink on a black background. The words were, “Is God dead?”
