COVID-19 Dashboard Update: May 2021 COVID Numbers, Vaccinations

May 31, 2021 - According to the Texas DSHS Covid-19 Dashboard, there have been 1 new death, 33 new cases, and 35 new recoveries reported during the month of May.

The active cases went from 20 at the end of April down to 17 at the end of May.

Jared Tovar Makes Dean's List of Scholars at University of North Texas

May 28, 2021 - Jared Tovar, Tenaha's Salutatorian from the Class of 2020, achieved the honor of being listed on the Dean's List of scholars at the University of North Texas for the 2021 Spring Semester.

Tovar is attending the G. Brint Ryan College of Business at the University of North Texas and only 20% of undergraduate students earn this honor for exemplary academic preformance with a grade point average of 3.5 or better. Jared is majoring in accounting and is intended to graduate in the Spring of 2023 with his Bachelor's of Science in Accounting.

Precinct 4 Commissioner Reports Water Over CR 4323 Has Subsided

May 21, 2021 -  The water over CR 4323 has subsided, and the roadway is once again open.


May 20, 2021 - Commissioner Precinct 4 Tom Bellmyer reports CR 4323 is temporarily closed due to high water at Risinger Creek. The water is over the roadway more than 14 inches. Signs will be put in place shortly for the closure. Please be careful when coming upon water across a roadway. Turn around, don't drown.
