December 14, 2021 - The Shelbyville Dragons ended their 2021 season with a 7-5 overall record advancing to the Area Round of playoffs. The following athletes were recognized in the All District and THSCA selections.

December 5, 2021 - Santa's Christmas Parade was a "Christmas Through the Decades" with floats reflecting Christmas of the past as well as the parade route going back to the good ole' days.
December 3, 2021 - The Rotary Club of Center made a donation to Operation Blue Santa during their Tuesday, November 30, 2021 meeting at the Civic Center.
December 2, 2021 - According to the Texas DSHS Covid-19 Dashboard, during the month of November Covid-19 cases decreased to the lowest numbers since before the summer months. The number of actives cases stayed low the whole month ending with only 9 active cases on November 30. October active cases peaked in the 160 range and Septembers highest estimated active cases count reached 223 mid month.
In total, November had 3 new deaths reported, 31 new cases reported, and 37 estimated recoveries reported.
December 2, 2021 - The Joaquin Masonic Lodge #856 is hosting an open house on Saturday, December 4th during the Joaquin Candy Cane Lane Christmas Festival in downtown Joaquin. Festival activities begin at 10am.
The lodge is also hosting a Hamburger Plate fundraiser for its Scholarship Fund. Plates are $10 and includes a Hamburger, chips, and a drink. The Masons look forward to visiting with all who come out.
November 2, 2021 (Due to the possibility of inclement weather, this event has been moved to November 10) - Center Elementary School invites area veterans to attend their Veteran’s Day event on November 10th in conjunction with the Center High School. This special day will be celebrated with an arrival of a Army Helicopter at 0900 hours. At the same time, Veterans are invited to drive through Center High School for a parade with the High School students cheering on the veterans as they drive thru.
