January 10, 2021 - The National Weather Service, Shreveport, LA, at 10:59am CST on Sunday, January 10, 2021 issued an urgent winter weather message.

Accumulating snowfall will be possible across portions of the area this evening through Monday morning.

November 30, 2020 - On Monday, November 30th at 1:47pm, the National Weather Service, Shreveport, LA, issued a freeze warning in effect from Midnight tonight to 9am CST Tuesday, December 1, 2020.

NWS Cancels Hurricane Laura Warning, Issues Tropical Storm Warning

August 27, 2020 - The National Weather Service cancelled the Hurricane Warning for Laura and issued a Tropical Storm warning at 7:27am, Thursday, August 27, 2020.

A Tropical Storm Warning means tropical storm-force winds are expected somewhere within this area within the next 36 hours.

Shelby County Under Tornado Watch (Updated)

August 26, 2020 - A tornado watch is in effect until 8am for the following locations, including Shelby County.

Texas counties included are:
Hardin, Jasper, Jefferson, Newton, Orange, Sabine, San Augustine, Shelby, Tyler.

Significant Weather Advisory Includes Shelby County, Surrounding Areas (Updated 6:30pm)

August 26, 2020 - Significant Weather Advisory for De Soto, Northwestern Red River, and Southwestern Caddo Parishes Southeastern Harrison, Panola, and Shelby Counties until 7:15pm CDT.

At 623 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 8 miles northeast of Mansfield to 7 miles northeast of Logansport to near Shelbyville. Movement was northwest at 40 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with these storms.

August 25, 2020 - A Hurricane Warning means hurricane-force winds are expected somewhere within this area within the next 36 hours. Locations affected include [Shelby County].

Wind - Latest local forecast: Equivalent Strong Tropical Storm force wind. Peak Wind Forecast: 45-60 mph with gusts to 85 mph. Window for Tropical Storm force winds: Wednesday evening until Thursday afternoon.

Shelby, Nearby Counties Included in Significant Weather Advisory

May 25, 2020 - Significant Weather Advisory for Southwestern De Soto and Northwestern Sabine Parishes, Eastern Shelby, Northeastern San Augustine and Northwestern Sabine Counties until 6:30pm.

At 5:28pm CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over San Augustine, or 20 miles south of Center, moving northeast at 25
mph.

Half inch hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with this storm.

Weather Service Issues Severe Thunderstorm Warning Until 3:30

April 29, 2020 - The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Southern Nacogdoches County, South central Shelby County, Angelina County, San Augustine County, and Sabine County in eastern Texas until 3:30am CDT.

At 2:39 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Apple Springs to 9 miles southwest of Nacogdoches to near Macune to 8 miles southeast of Milam, moving southeast at 55 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
