Joaquin VFD Reports 5 Medical Calls for Week of Feb. 26-Mar. 4

March 6, 2023 - The week of February 26th through March 4th added 5 more medical calls to the record for Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department. Here’s a summary of the week’s events.

Tuesday at 7:35pm a call was received for a female having trouble breathing on County Road 3598. The JVFD EMR team responded to provide oxygen with an assist from DeSoto Fire District 1. The patient was later transported by Allegiance EMS to an emergency room.

Joaquin VFD Reports 2 Medical Calls for the Week of Feb. 5-11

February 13, 2023 - Over the week of February 5th through 11th the Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department had just 2 calls, with both coming in on Wednesday. Here’s a summary of the week’s events.

Wednesday morning at 7:51am the JVFD was called to assist with a potential DOA on the Doogieville Loop. It was quickly discovered that this was the scene of a crime and a investigation was opened by law enforcement. At this point there was not much that the JVFD could do and they were cleared from the scene. The suspect was brought into custody later in the evening.

Joaquin VFD Report Includes 4 Calls for Week of Jan. 22-28

January 30, 2023 - The Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department had a fairly average call volume for the week of January 22nd through 28th with 4 calls. Here’s a summary of the weeks events.

Sunday at 12:26pm a page was received in regards to a grass fire in a pasture on County Road 3361. Fire had covered a small portion of the pasture and was moving across the ground at a steady pace. The JVFD responded to the call with a single brush truck and put a quick stop to any further spread.

Joaquin VFD Reports Active Week with 7 Calls

January 9, 2023 - The opening week to 2023 was an active one for the Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department with 7 separate calls, 3 of those on New Year's Day alone. Here's a summary of the week's events.

The first call of the year came in around 2:00am for a camper on fire off of County Road 3189. When units arrived on scene, they found the camper fully involved and began to pull hose lines. After a close to an hour of dousing flames and hot spots the fire was deemed under control. The camper was a complete loss, but no one was harmed.

Joaquin VFD Reports Three Calls; Election of Officers

December 19, 2022 - Over the week December 11 through December 17 the Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department had three calls as well as our annual officer election. Here’s a summary of the weeks events.
 
Of the three calls, two consisted of medical assistance and the other a request to help funeral home personnel with a deceased person. 
 
In other news, the department held its final meeting of the year Monday night to elect the officers for 2023. The results of which are:
