May 2, 2022 - During week of April 25th to May 1st the Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department responded to one call. Despite being the sole call for the week it had all the excitement necessary to make up for it.
April 25, 2022 - During the week of April 18th through 24th the Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to exactly one call. This was quite the “night and day” to last weeks total of nine calls.
On Sunday, April 24th, Joaquin VFD responded to reports of a gas leak on FM 2428 in Joaquin. After arriving on scene, members of the department confirmed that gas was present and waited until a representative of the City of Joaquin came out to repair the leak.
April 18, 2022 - From the severe storms of early last week all the way to Easter Sunday, here’s a list of all the calls the Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department responded to in that time.
Starting the night of Tuesday, April 12th to the morning of Wednesday, April 13th the JVFD had 7 recorded calls of trees being down on roads and power lines. Reports of trees down were widespread across the jurisdiction of the JVFD, and much of the clearing was done by breaking up into small teams to more efficiently remove the obstructions.
March 21, 2022 - The Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department has been dispatched to five fires since March 19, 2022 that were the result of some form of outdoor burning.
