September 5, 2023 - Robin Gibson Connell will speak to Timpson Area Genealogy and Heritage Society Wednesday, September 20, at 2pm in the Timpson Public Library annex. She will share her successes and challenges as a successful business owner in small towns.
Robin Gibson Connell really needs no introduction in our area. If you are one of the few people who do not know her, she moved to Timpson in 1979 at the age of 19 and opened the original Quick Stop. She has two kids, Kyle and Amy Allen, both graduates of Timpson and SFA and TAMU, respectively.
August 16, 2023 - The sponsor and staff of Loblolly magazine have graciously agreed to conduct an interview with JT Rhodes at Timpson Area Genealogy and Heritage Society's meeting Wednesday, August 16, at 2pm, in the annex of Timpson Public Library.
July 18, 2023 - Timpson Area Genealogy and Heritage Society will welcome our own Dru Dickey as our speaker Wednesday, July 19, at 2pm at Timpson Public Library annex. She will share her research on the Sparks family and how she connects to other families, locally.
Dru is the daughter of TE (Thomas) Sparks and grew up in Texas City. A retired teacher, Dru is an accomplished genealogist. She has served TAGHS as archivist, Librarian, and treasurer. She can be found most Wednesdays volunteering in the Genealogy Library.

She will also provide insights into the extent of the planning and behind the scenes work necessary to produce a successful celebration.
May 17, 2023 - Timpson Area Genealogy and Heritage Society will welcome Bill O'Neal as our speaker Wednesday, May 17, at 2PM at Timpson Public Library. He will discuss the musical traditions of Texas and the book on which he recently collaborated with Tommie Ritter Smith, The Texas Country Music Hall of Fame. Please join us to hear this highly entertaining speaker.
April 19, 2023 - Timpson Area Genealogy and Heritage Society (TAGHS) is pleased to welcome Jake Keeling as our speaker Wednesday, April 19th, at 2PM at Timpson Public Library annex.
Jake, the 6th generation of the Keeling family line to make his home in the Jumbo community on the Rusk/Panola line, graduated from Henderson Public schools in 2007. He graduated from East Texas Baptist University in 2011, and subsequently earned a Master of Arts in history from SFA IN 2014. Jake serves as an adjunct instructor in the history department at ETBU.
March 13, 2023 - Jim Ross, son of J. W. and Laura Ross, who spent their retirement years in the Silas community near Timpson, will speak about the London School explosion to Timpson Area Genealogy and Heritage Society members and guests on Wednesday, March 15, at 2pm in the Timpson Public Library annex.
February 15, 2023 - Scott Sosebee will address Timpson Area Genealogy and Heritage Society (TAGHS) on Wednesday, February 15 at 2pm about Houston and East Texas Railway.
A Professor of History at SFA and the Executive Director of the East Texas Historical Association, Mr. Sosebee is also the author of five books on Texas History. The latest of these is "What is it About Texas Essays on the Lone Star State?"
January 14, 2023 - Timpson Area Genealogy and Heritage Society (TAGHS) will welcome Dow McWilliams as our speaker Wednesday, January 18, at 2 PM, in the Timpson Public Library annex. Mr. McWilliams will speak about how he remembers Timpson from his youth. He will focus on an aerial photo, labeled as circa 1929 and taken by his uncle Terry Crawford. Briefly, he will discuss Ramsey family connections.
