"Letters" by Neal Murphy

November 16, 2016 - During my forty years in the insurance business I received many letters.  Most of them were nice, polite, and well-written.  Of course, there were a few that fell a little short.  The following is a letter from an Allstate customer from Galveston, TX regarding a claim:

Dear Friends,
In regards to Clame No 329011 which involved youalls insured party on June the 10th, 1964 around 5 p.m. on 46 & J.S.T, Galveston, Texas,

"The Real McCoy" by Neal Murphy

October 3, 2016 - Most of you older readers will remember an early television program starring Walter Brennan and Richard Crenna which was quite popular.  It aired from 1957 to 1963 and was about a dirt-poor family on a California farm.  They were the McCoy family, with grandpa, Walter Brennan, the leader of the family.

"So You're Married to a Type 'A'" by Neal Murphy

September 5, 2016 - Medical experts tell us that there are two personality types of people – Type A and Type B.  Those who would be considered on the Type A side of the spectrum are those that are more driven, more focused, more goal-oriented, more diligent, more likely to get stressed and emotional, and more  likely to have heart attacks and/or mental breakdowns.

The other side of the spectrum includes everyone else, who are called Type B personalities. These people aren’t as driven or goal-oriented, are more laid back, and more careless.

"The Bicycle Path" by Neal Murphy

August 17, 2016 - When is a bicycle path not a bicycle path?  That is the question that my wife had to decide a number of years ago in Colorado.  I had taken a new job in 1974 with an insurance company whose home office was Littleton, Colorado.  We moved there in January of that year, native Texans in a foreign country, whom the natives teased about our “accent”.  I never felt that we had any detectible accent, but the Colorado citizens felt differently.
