Forest Service Waives Fees for National Public Lands Day

September 11, 2018 - Many recreation areas and other venues in the National Forest will be free to the public on Saturday, September 22 in celebration of National Public Lands Day. 

“National Public Lands Day is a great opportunity for families to visit our national forests, experience the beginnings of fall, and perhaps be motivated to join in with other volunteers and help us restore America’s precious natural resources,” said National Forests and Grasslands in Texas Forest Supervisor Eddie Taylor.

US Forest Service Seeks Applicants for Recreation Advisory Committee

July 26, 2018 - The U.S. Forest Service is seeking nominations to fill four positions on the Southern Region Recreation Resource Advisory Committee to serve national forests across the Southeast. The committee is tasked with reviewing fee proposals for the forests in 13 southern states and Puerto Rico and recommending fee changes.

Sabine-Angelina Resource Advisory Committee to Meet

June 5, 2018 - The Sabine-Angelina Resource Advisory Committee will discuss, recommend and approve new Title II projects and collaborate upcoming stewardship projects and future restoration projects at its meeting June 19 at the Sabine National Forest Ranger’s Office in Hemphill.

The purpose of the committee is to improve collaborative relationships and to provide advice and recommendations to the U.S. Forest Service concerning projects and funding consistent with Title II of the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act.

Forest Service Waives Day-use Fees for National Get Outdoors Day

May 29, 2018 - The National Forests and Grasslands in Texas is waiving fees at day-use recreation sites June 9 for National Get Outdoors Day.

“We hope this free day offers an incentive to all people to experience the great outdoors in our forests and grasslands,” Forest Supervisor Eddie Taylor said.

Camping fees remain in effect, but day-use fees will be waived on Saturday, June 9 at these recreation areas and trails:
