Texas Garden Clubs Youth Award Luncheon

April 24, 2015 - Center Garden Club members Linda Bordelon, (shown with Incoming Texas Garden Clubs State President Carol Moore and Texas State President Sarah McReynolds), Carolyn Bounds, Alison Scull, Robbie Kerr, Judy Matthews, Jackie Hancock, Shirley Owens, and Cherry Jones attended the Youth Awards luncheon on Wednesday, April 22, at the 87th Texas Garden Clubs, Inc. Spring Convention in Tyler, Texas.

Preceptor Upsilon Makes Presentation to Grand Prize Winner

April 23, 2015 - Members with the Preceptor Upsilon Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi held their annual fundraiser drawing on Monday, April 20, 2015 and Kim Oswalt (fourth from left) won the Grand Prize Package of a Portacool Cyclone 1000 ($369 Value) donated by Portacool; Bayou Cooker ($150 Value) donated by McAdams Propane; $150 Gift Certificate donated by Dance Furniture & Appliance; $150 Walmart Gift Card donated by General Shelters & Jimmy L. Howard, Inc. and an NFL Houston Texans Cooler ($100 Value) donated by Lacie Payne.

The Golden Harvest Ministries Club April Meeting

April 22, 2015 - The Golden Harvest Ministries Club met April 20, 2015 in the Fellowship Hall of the First Baptist Church . Joe Anderson brought the meeting to order by calling on Ron Barbee to give the opening prayer. He then recognized our visitors who were Joe Fiedler, Margaret and Gene Casto and Elizabeth Pate. Harold Hanson led us as we sang “He Keeps Me Singing” and “ America the Beautiful.” Alice West played the piano as we sang.

Beta Sigma Phi Preceptor Upsilon Chapter Announces Winners

April 21, 2015 - The Beta Sigma Phi Preceptor Upsilon Chapter announces the winners of their annual fundraiser drawings held Monday, April 20 with proceeds benefiting the Fannie Brown Booth Memorial Library and other community projects. Members with the Preceptor Upsilon Chapter extend their appreciation and gratitude to the businesses for their generosity with donating prizes and to the community for supporting this year’s fundraiser. CASA of Deep East Texas Swears In, Welcomes New Volunteers

April 20, 2015 - CASA of Deep East Texas welcomes three new CASA/GAL's to Nacogdoches County. Honorable Judge Klein swore in Amy Reed, Debra Judge, and Elizabeth 'Sam' Pederson on April 20, 2015. They will soon be the voice for a child in foster care and stand up for them in court. The next tentative training is scheduled for June. Applications are being accepted. Logansport Seniors Who Made A Difference Banquet

April 2015  Texas State Bank sponsored the "Seniors who Made A Difference" banquet for the 2015 graduating class of Logansport High School. It was held on April 14 at the John D Windham Civic Center in Center, Texas. Mark Ivey, President, Texas State Bank, gave the welcome to all and David Graves, Director, Texas State Bank, gave the invocation. A delicious meal was served to the six seniors chosen, as well as the teachers each student had chosen that had a made a difference in their school career, along with other school and bank officials.
