David's Daily Devotion for October 27

October 27, 2023 - Good Morning! It's Friday, October 27.

I love spirituals. I love their simplicity, their honesty. These American songs, created by the African American church before the Civil War, are filled with courage and inspiration. Ombudsman Are a Critical Part of Nursing Home Care

October 24, 2023 - For many nursing home residents, someone to talk to is all they need. An ombudsman, a member of a group of volunteer resident advocates who work with nursing home residents, can be that someone.

Ombudsmen work with 34 nursing facilities throughout the Deep East Texas Region and 13 assisted living facilities. Each volunteer is paired with a facility, and visits that facility two hours every week.
